Sponsor A Woman Survivor Of War

So I've decided to support the ladies global-style. I've been thinking about how to go about it for awhile now, and of all the things that could've lit the fire under my tush, it was an article in Glamour about former sex slaves in Darfur. Those editors are so, so smart to interject the human interest pieces while you're indulging in guilty pleasures of fashion, cosmetics and dream sweepstakes. It's a stark contrast between real human suffering and the latest fad lip plumper.

My girl Mary Grace told me about this program, Women for Women International. I think 60 Minutes did something on them in January, too. It's $30 to join and then a minimum of $27/mo. to sponsor a woman. You can choose a country or simply default to wherever your help is most needed. You're matched with your "sister" in 4 weeks, and in addition to monetary support you have the option of writing letters for moral/emotional support. It's the most direct way I've seen in the way of affecting positive change in a war-torn country /changing another woman's life for the better.

Join me in sponsoring a woman survivor of war. Sign up online today at:

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines. Looking for a referral accelerator? The High-Octane Networking Power Lunch revs it up! We provide a motivational message from a professional speaker followed by an hour of SPEED NETWORKING!

Friday, February 29
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

South Walton Suites
1120 South Walton Boulevard
Bentonville, Arkansas
Click here to learn more about them.

Speed networking provides attendees the opportunity to engage in at least 10 one-on-one five-minute conversations with other
attendees is a high-energy, structured format.

Before we launch into an hour of speed networking, we feature a motivational message by consultant and corporate trainer Danny Frost. He will discuss the fundamentals of being a true leader. So many leaders try to steal their way into leadership using fear or intimidation. Others assume they are a “leader” simply because they have been given a position or title. In doing so, leaders fall short of what a true leader is.

He will give us ideas on becoming the leader that we were meant to be while bringing up a generation of leaders behind us.

About the speaker: Danny Frost is a business professional, consultant, and facilitator who uses his creative and energetic presentations to address teams and organizations dealing with some of today’s hottest issues. He has over 17 years experience working as a consultant and training manager in multi-million dollar retail outlets and companies. They trust him to motivate their teams and help them understand the basics of dealing with personal change and leadership styles to improve bottom line performance and — most of all — their personal lives. His personal philosophy is that it is EVERYONE’s responsibility to mentoring others to succeed and to lead by inspiring others to be everything they were meant to be. Join us for the High-Octane Networking Power Lunch.
Event includes lunch for just $25.

Seating is limited. Register and pay online at

30-Day Sit Spot Challenge from Ozark Tracker Society

Imagine people all over the world going to their outdoor "Sit Spots"
every day for 30 days!
(read about the 30-Day Sit Spot Challenge:
http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow/pub.php?module=URLTracker&cmd=track&j=190703462&u=1923590

Why would they do this, and what's a "Sit Spot" anyway?

As the students in our Kamana Naturalist Training Program already
know, regularly going to the same spot, even for just a few minutes at
a time, is a powerful way to learn about nature.

And as Jon Young says, whether you want to become a naturalist,
tracker, bird language or wild plant expert, "Find one place you can
get to know really, really well."

However, this time of year it can be really challenging for even the
most commited student of nature to keep going to their sit spot.

That's where the 30-Day Sit Spot Challenge from Feb. 15th - March 15th
comes in!

I decided to coordinate this event because sometimes we can forget
what is important, and having other people share in our challenging
experiences is really supportive.

For example, just knowing that lots of other folks are accepting the
challenge helps holds me to the things I want in life, like
cultivating quietness and becoming closer to the natural world right
in my own place.

Please join me and many others in accepting the 30-Day Sit Spot
Challenge. Read about the challenge and how to join:
http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow/pub.php?module=URLTracker&cmd=track&j=190703462&u=1923591

Just think how powerfully and joyfully you'll be greeting the coming
Spring, after having spent the last month of winter outside every day,
watching the natural world awaken from winter slumber?

In gratitude,

Kat Koch,
Youth Programs Instructor, Kamana 2 Responder, and Product Sales Manager

p.s. Though the event officially begins Feb. 15th, if you're late in
finding out about the Challenge and getting started, that's OK, just
make up the time to yourself after March 15th.

And if you're traveling during part of this period, that's alright
also, just find someplace outside to sit each day. The point of this
is to spend the time connecting with nature and support others in
doing so.

Here's that web page about the challenge again:
