News:
American Heart Association reaches 2010 Goal

It was a lofty goal - reduce the number of deaths from coronary heart
disease and stroke by 25% before 2010. We've hit the mark for heart disease and
are almost there for stroke! Unfortunately, there is much that still needs to
be done. Reducing risk factors, especially physical inactivity, obesity and diabetes, is a
major challenge.

In fact, recent studies
from the American Heart Association indicate that women face unique risks for
developing heart disease, but you can protect yourself by
learning more about how to lower your blood pressure, or
reading the latest studies.

Heart Health:
Help
women live longer,
healthier lives

The HEART
for Women Act
was drafted to reduce the devastating effects of cardiovascular
disease in women. It calls for widespread access to early detection, accurate
diagnosis and proper treatment. The American Heart Association believes strongly
in this bill. We are urging members of Congress to pass the HEART for Women
Act this year and start helping women live longer, healthier lives. For more information
