African American Heritage Celebration

The African American Heritage Celebration committee is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Taste of Northwest Arkansas, which will once again offer multiple samples of the eclectic cuisine currently available in Northwest Arkansas from many of the very best restaurants. The Taste of Northwest Arkansas will be followed by a hair and fashion show Shades of You: Power of Emotions, which is a very exciting pictorial view of the beautiful mix of the faces and cultures in the region. With an effort to raise awareness, engage individuals of all cultural backgrounds, and support the existing rich heritage of the University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas Community, we are eagerly anticipating the second annual Taste of Northwest Arkansas.

To be held on the evening of Friday, November 4th, 2005 at the Fayetteville Town Center, this unique event will promise something exciting and new to our community. We will offer samplings of the finest restaurant cuisine currently available in Northwest Arkansas, a charity auction, and a hair and fashion show. Based on our tremendous support last year, we anticipate attracting diverse participants throughout the state and region.

We would like to invite you to be a part of the Taste of Northwest Arkansas, which will take place before the hair and fashion show. To represent your restaurant at this event, please consider the following:

• Provide a sample of one of your signature dishes (this can be an appetizer, main course or dessert sample) for approximately 500 people.
• Provide a staff member(s) for your table to greet attendees and hand out info/menus about your restaurant.
• Serve sample from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Fayetteville Town Center. (Please be set up by 5:30 p.m. You will be provided a draped table and electricity if needed).

We believe this will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to not only sample what your restaurant has to offer but an opportunity for you to market and promote your restaurant.

The charity beneficiary of the 2005 event is the Eddie Armstrong Scholarship Foundation. The mission of the Eddie Armstrong Scholarship is to expand opportunities and improve post secondary education experiences for minority students from single parent households attending the University of Arkansas. This foundation strives to cultivate civility, economic and social responsibility, and character development in minority students from single parent households, by facilitating cross cultural and personal development and greater exposure to the history, evolution, and future of the region.

Thank you for considering this request for your support of the Taste of Northwest Arkansas. If you have additional questions and need more information about the African American Heritage Celebration event, contact Rhett Barrett (479) 790-3869 or Donald Keels (479) 283-4237.

Sincerely,
Rhett Barrett & Donald Keels
