Little Mountain Bindery Classes

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that these two fun classes are coming up this week. Also, the rubber stamp making class has been moved to next Tuesday. We would love to see some new faces (as well as old friends) around the bindery this fall!

Sign up today!

Bookbinding Basics

Instructor: Lesha Shaver
Cost: $175
Dates:September 16, 23, 30, and October 7 6-8:30 p.m. (Tuesdays)
Level: Beginner

In this 4-week class we will learn the basic elements of traditional bookbinding. Students will become familiar with traditional materials and tools while learning to measure, cut, and sew. We will learn to make several books ranging from pamphlets and accordions to more complicated bindings such as the single-signature case binding and a soft-cover buttonhole binding. Each student will take home a minimum of four books when this class is completed. We will discuss various aspects of the history of bookbinding as we go. All materials included in price.

Ethiopian Binding

Instructor: Amy Allen
Cost: $99
Dates: September 18-19, 6-9 p.m. (Thursday & Friday)
Level: Beginners welcome

This adaptation of an ancient structure uses channeled boards to create a sturdy construction. The exposed spine reveals a link stitch sewing created using four needles. The final result is very functional and relatively easy to create. All materials included in price.

Printmaking: Rubber Stamps

Instructor: Nichelle Wilson-Parish
Cost: $40
Dates:September 23 (Tuesday) 9a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Level: Beginners Welcome

Learn to make your own rubber stamp designs using relief printmaking techniques. Make your own Chinese "chop" or signature stamp or let your imagination run. Use for making stationery, borders or any other decorative paper/paint projects. All materials included in price.
