For Immediate Release: Friends of Omega Foundation hosts Northwest Arkansas engagement of 50th Annual Ebony Fashion Fair Tour on December 7, 2007

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, October 17, 2007 – Ebony Fashion Fair, the world’s largest traveling fashion show, will make a stop in Northwest Arkansas on Friday, December 7 at 8 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Rogers, Arkansas. This highly anticipated 50th anniversary show, “Glam Odyssey: A Fashion Journey Into Bliss & Beyond,” will allow attendees to witness glamour redefined while taking an unforgettable journey through five decades of fashion. The show is characterized by its glamour, elegance and beauty and has all of the energy of a Broadway show. In conjunction with Ebony Fashion Fair, Friends of Omega Foundation will host a dinner at 7pm at Embassy Suites.

Regular ticket prices include the Dinner and show and cost $65. VIP tickets are available for $100 and include Dinner, the Show and an invitation to the post-event VIP reception. General admission tickets, which do not include the dinner, will only be available for University of Arkansas students at a price of $21.

Since its inception in 1958, Ebony Fashion Fair has donated more than $53 million to charitable organizations. Mrs. Eunice W. Johnson, a true fashion pioneer, is producer and director. Presented by the Friends of Omega Foundation, the Ebony Fashion Fair’s “Glam Odyssey: A Fashion Journey Into Bliss & Beyond” show celebrates 50 years and will travel to nearly 180 cities in the U.S., Canada, Bermuda and Jamaica through May 2008.

Thirteen models embodying a variety of shades and shapes will don the latest styles by world famous designers including Christian Dior, Oscar De la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Bill Blass and Jean Louis Scherrer. Proceeds will benefit the Northwest Arkansas My Kid Biz Program of The Friends of Omega Foundation, a not-for-profit Arkansas Corporation founded in 2005 to help foster quality diverse programming in the Northwest Arkansas community.

The goal of My Kid Biz is to provide sound, actionable educational programs with a direct focus on financial literacy. The inaugural My Kid Biz Program was launched in Memphis, Tennessee in 2001 with support from the 100 Black Men of the Memphis chapter. The first Northwest Arkansas Kid Biz seminar was held on August 5, 2006. Over 70 attended the one-day seminar which was hosted at the University of Arkansas’ Sam Walton College of Business.

Each ticket includes a choice of a one-year subscription to EBONY magazine or six-month subscription to JET magazine. In addition, ticket holders will have a chance to win fabulous door prizes such as round-trip air transportation for two to any destination served by American Airlines or American Eagle in the domestic U.S.49 states and a 2008 Ford Edge by Ford Motor Company. Ticket holders can also have a chance to win products from Fashion Fair Cosmetics, the world leader in the field of cosmetics for black women.
