Peel House Foundation's Annual Historical Ghost Walk

The Peel House Foundation's annual Historical Ghost Walk will be held on October 13, and October 27, 2005. This annual Ghost Walk will allow participants to learn the history of the outstanding Bentonville citizens who help found the City. The Walk includes dinner, a reenactment of the last legal hanging that took place in Benton County, tour of the Peel Mansion and the historical section of the Bentonville Cemetery. The Peel Mansion is known as one of the 1,000 most haunted places in the United States. Don't miss this opportunity!

Location: Bentonville Cemetery (from Walton - East on Central Avenue, South on F Street) & the Peel Mansion (400 S. Walton Blvd)

Walk participants will be met at the entrance by grieving widows, who will lead groups of 15-20 people through the cemetery to each historical gravesite – Berry, Peel, Pauper’s Corner, the last freed slave in Benton County, the mausoleum.

Then participants will go to the Peel Mansion where they will be given a tour of the homesite and might just witness some spirit sightings. Then the last trial and legal hanging will be reenacted, before participants enjoy a dinner of salad, garlic bread, spaghetti, iced tea, coffee and dessert.

Time: 6:00 pm - approx 9:00 pm
Tickets for the Ghost Walk and dinner are $20 each and can be purchased at the Peel Mansion, located at 400 S. Walton Blvd in Bentonville, in front of the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Feel free to call for more information 273-9664.
