Mother to Mother Ministry of NWA
Do you know about Mother to Mother Ministry of NWA? Currently I am working with 84 single and low-income mothers to provide them with friendship and support on their journey to self sufficiency. Each mother gets encoragement and enrichment through our one on one mentoring program and our monthly Reflection Meetings. She also recieve a feeling of accomplishment by following our easy to use goal sheet. She has the opportunity to earn "mommy dollars" to use for diapers, toilet paper, make up, clothing and other items the community donates to our program. Mother to Mother has been serving NWA for 14 years now. We are looking forward to another 14 years.
We would like to invite you to join our wonderful team of mentors, board memebers, or sponsors. We currently are looking for women who have a desire to make a difference and make a great friend. Board Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of every month, starting at 5pm. Mentors duties include, listening, encouraging, and being a friend. You have to remember that it will only take about 10 hours per month because the majority of my "moms" are just as busy as you. Sponsorships are what Mother to Mother continue. We have 3 upcoming events that are very important and can not be successful without your help.
Oct. 8th - Mother to Mother annual "meet and greet picnic" will be held at Park Springs Park on SW 10th street in Bentonville from 1pm to 3pm, if you would like to attend or would like to donate a door prize please let me know, we'd love to have you as a part of this event.
Nov. 19th is our annual Thanksgiving dinner. We are still looking for someone to sponsor our dinner, as well as door prizes for this event. Perhaps you have a church group who would love to cook a dinner for atleast 75. This will be the only thanksgiving dinner most of these families will have. We like to make it a wonderful day for our moms and their children. If you would like to help with this event please let me know.
Dec. 17th is our annual Christmas Celebration. Each year we make a goodie bag for our moms and each child gets a gift from Santa, who attends our party. We sing, make crafts, and enjoy dinner among all our families at Mother to Mother. This year we are seeking help with our Christmas dinner, as well as atleast 100 "mommy" gifts and toy donations (new or gently used). Most of our moms will not recieve a gift this year for christmas so we like to do something special for them for all their hard work and dedication to their children. We also do door prizes at this event. If you would like to help with our Christmas Celebration please let me know.
