FPL Offers One Week Food-for-Fines Exchange
FAYETTEVILLE – The Fayetteville Public Library will allow patrons to reduce or eliminate their fines by donating non-perishable canned food items between Monday, March 30 and Sunday April 5.
Each canned item equals a $0.50 reduction of their library fees. Food can be brought to the library’s Check Out Desk.
The library cannot accept food in lieu of payment for patrons with current collection agency activity.
The food will be donated to Cooperative Emergency Outreach, an agency that provides emergency services to families and individuals in Washington County who are in need.
Items most needed include peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned meat, packaged macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, grits, saltines and canned soup.
