Description

RULES!!!

• The Exhibit will be held in the Anne Kittrell Art Gallery and displayed by the Apparel Merchandising Department on the University of Arkansas campus.
• This is an OPEN call to all designers in the North West Arkansas area. No experience required.
•You do not need to register, simply drop off garments in the Union, office A683(University Programs) before the deadline

Garments:
• All entries must have labels permanently sewn into each piece. Label must include name, with contact information so that items can be returned to the correct designer.
• Garments must be complete. Incomplete garments or garments that come in unfinished, improperly constructed, or coming apart in any way may not be used in the exhibit.
• All entries must be hung neatly and on hangers. Do not pin garment to hanger. (Use clip hanger for pants and skirts. Use hang-loops for strapless gowns.)
• All garments and accessories chosen for the final exhibition will be held until September 14, 2009. The Apparel Exhibit will run from April 20-September 11, 2009.
• All entries will be notified by April 20, 2009 as to which garments are chosen and those that need to be picked up.

CATEGORIES:
Choose one of the following categories in which you believe your garment best fits the description and guidelines. There is not a limit on the amount of garments and accessories entered. However, not all garments and accessories will be chosen for the exhibit.
1 Casual: includes casual sportswear, weekend-wear, casual Friday office clothing, active and sports outfits or yoga clothing. Can be fun, playful, relaxed and informal.
2 Career: includes suiting and coats, dresses for the office and outwear; designer sportswear, professional looks, a little more serious, career type outfits and coats.
3 Cocktail/Evening: includes traditional evening gowns, cocktail dresses, evening suits, special occasion and bridal wear.
4 Theatre/Costume/Wearable Art Apparel and Accessories- costumes, period dressing, theatrical, artistic; unusual or innovative materials and findings; imaginative but must be wearable with an intended end-use!

* If your garments are not chosen for the exhibit:
There will be a ‘Runway Show’, September 2009 in the Union Connections Lounge. A designer call for the runway show will be posted soon. Garments in the Exhibit will not be shown in the Runway Show.
