Hope for Arkansas is pleased that the Arkansas Times chose Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter as Arkansan of the Year for his advocacy of the Scholarship Lottery and the benefit it will bring to Arkansas students and families! "Everyone who helped HOPE for Arkansas qualify a constitutional
amendment for the November 4 General Election ballot knew that this was
never just about a lottery. They knew it was about our future, our
children's future and the future of our state. All Arkansans should
know that voter approval of a Scholarship Lottery could not have
happened without the extraordinary philanthropy of John and Patti
Bailey. As we move forward, I thank the Baileys and my other nominees
for "Arkansans of the Year," whose support for HOPE for Arkansas and the
Scholarship Lottery provided our state this opportunity to move
forward."
