of those Hard Working Women!
Nurse's Day--May 6
Teacher's Day--May 8
Mother's Day--May 13
All of these dates are in place to honor the people whose lives are dedicated to taking care of others--our ill and injured, and our children. These are jobs that don't end at 5 o'clock. They are jobs that require a commitment of heart and round the clock dedication. Nurses have to be available at all hours of the day and night. Teachers go home at 3 to grade papers and prepare for tomorrow. And mothers are there in the middle of the night for tummy aches, monster-in-the-closet search parties, as well as the amazing trick of listening at the doorway for the breath of sleeping children. These are jobs that rarely allow for rest.
Now it's their turn (the nurses, teachers, and mothers) to be on the receiving end. May gives us the chance to take care of the people who have for so long taken care of us.
