Still taking applications for the fall

The mission of Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Washington County is to help single parents become self-sufficient through post-secondary education.

• SPSFWC was established in 1984 as a response to a dramatic increase in the number of impoverished single parent families in our area.
• Each year SPSFWC awards over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 100 scholarship recipients.
• Single Parent Scholarship Fund Washington County receives no government funding.
• Our scholarships are funded entirely by donations from individuals, local businesses, civic and community groups, churches, as well as foundations such as the Walton Family Foundation, the Wal-Mart/SAM’S CLUB Foundation, and the United Way.
• Contributions from all segments of the local community are vital to our continued ability to provide scholarships to deserving single parents.
