Little Mountain Bindery - Big Changes!
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all staying calm under holiday pressure! We've had two great Saturday workshops back to back here at the bindery--Holiday Paper Ornaments AND Paste Papers. Everyone who participated made some really beautiful stuff and hopefully had a really good time.
Some of you may know that Sonia, my business roommate, is moving to a new space between Nightbird Books and Mason des Tartes. It's bad news for me because I will be losing a very inspiring and motivating presence in the shop, but it is really good news for Sonia. It means that her design school and center are growing and changing. This is why sharing space can be so rewarding--it allows very small businesses to take small steps forward together without accumulating as much of the debt and stress going at it alone can create. So congratulations to Sonia and the New Design Center & School! And, congratulations to Sonia and Mike, who were married this weekend!
That being said, Little Mountain Bindery will be going through some changes in January and so will not be offering any workshops until the beginning of February. www.littlemountainbindery.com will launch on January 1 with a new spring schedule. While I am pursuing a couple of very exciting possibilities for the expansion of the bindery and what we offer, I would still love to hear from any of you who may have ideas, proposals, or even advice.
Thanks to all of you who support the bindery: students, shoppers, book repair clients, and the artists who make some of the beautiful jewelry, cards, boxes, and books we sell. Thanks to you all. We will make the bindery bigger and better, and I will keep you updated as things change.
We still have lots of nifty gift items for the holidays, so stop by Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturdays 11a.m.-2p.m. for last-minute shopping.
Have a great week,
Lesha Shaver
